Abstract
Judiciary as one of the three branches of the Government was once considered to be the weakest amongst the three—lacking in energy and prestige once upon a time. But this was once upon a time: As the years went by, the power of judiciary increased to such extent that prestige of judges began to grow—the Judges who were regarded as a lion under the throne, soon became the lion over the throne. The reason behind this is attributed to the “power of judicial review entrusted to the judicial branch of the government.”2
